The importance of being able to recognize and manage operational and supply disruptions. Topics include: identification and mitigation of technology and supply disruptions, ethical considerations, cost implications and recovery planning.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to


  • 1. Evaluate the principles of holistic operational disruption management.

  • 2. Analyze the potential disruptions involved with operational decisions.

  • 3. Examine the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

  • 4. Develop metrics to track key operational management measures for customer service and component/product

  • availability.

  • 5. Formulate organizational impacts and cost of ownership for component items.

  • 6. Evaluate the ethical and legal considerations within operational disruption management.

  • 7. Examine the supply chain and possible disruptions during new product development.

  • 8. Construct recovery plans.
